CMS to join Powersports Distribution Group
Powersports Distribution Group (“PDG”) is proud to announce that it has acquired 100% of the shares of Consolidated Motor Spares (“CMS”) from former owner and founder Mike Buttinger. PDG will support CMS’ management team, led by Roald Van Zandwijk, in realizing their growth plans to further develop CMS as a leading global distributor of vintage motorcycle parts and as a preferred and trusted partner for its customers, suppliers, and employees. With the acquisition of CMS, PDG further positions itself as a leading European distributor of premium motorcycle parts and accessories.
Mike Buttinger, former owner and founder of CMS, comments: “I am happy to have PDG on board to fuel CMS’ growth ambitions in the coming years. During the acquisition process the PDG and Torqx teams have clearly showed that they have the relevant expertise and network in this industry. I believe that there are many opportunities out there and I am convinced that joining forces with PDG will accelerate the development of CMS.” As part of the transaction Mike Buttinger will stay on board as a shareholder and Senior Advisor of PDG.
Tom Beyers, CEO of PDG, comments: “PDG is impressed by the breadth and depth of CMS’ product offering, their digital expertise and the impressive growth realized in the last 20 years with Mike and Roald at the helm. I look forward to actively supporting CMS in its next phase of growth.”
Cedric De Dycker, Partner at Torqx Capital Partners, comments: ”The acquisition of CMS creates a third pillar within PDG. CMS is a strong brand within the motorcycle community and a state-of-the-art digital sales platform with a unique motorcycle & parts database. This acquisition will enable PDG to further expand into adjacent products, customers and geographies.”
