Claro Carwash acquires Starwash and expands in Limburg

Claro Carwash (“Claro”) and the Brouwers family are proud to announce the acquisition of Starwash.  Starwash is the largest and best-known car wash chain in Limburg, with a network of four sites. The Starwash outlets can be found at prominent locations in Maastricht, Heerlen, Roermond and Sittard and feature state-of-the-art car wash technology, including interior cleaning belts.

The first Starwash car wash was opened by the Brouwers family back in 1982, as an addition to the gas station for which the entrepreneurial family was mainly known at the time. Since then, Starwash has grown into a sizeable company with four sites and 34 employees. For the Brouwers family, this is a good time to hand over the company and focus on real estate development. Jos Brouwers: “For years we have put our heart and soul into Starwash and turned it into a wonderful company. Now we are proud to hand it over to the young and enthusiastic team at Claro, convinced that they will be able to bring it even further in the coming years.”

For Claro, this acquisition represents a significant expansion in the southern region and thus an important step in its ambition to build a national chain. Hein Castelijns, managing director of Claro, is very excited about the acquisition: “Until now we were only active in Heerlen, but with this acquisition we are strengthening our presence throughout Limburg. We are proud of the trust the Brouwers family has in us and look forward to continuing to build this great company together with the local team.”
